Hoshikuzu

Their world is small,
and mostly night.
A wooden house at the edge of a paper forest. A kettle that’s always on. A sky that, if you watched it long enough, would slowly turn its pages.

Otou
Quiet, steady, and always up before sunrise. He checks the weather for no reason — there is never anywhere they need to be.

Okaa
She knows which drawer the scissors are in. She also knows when you need tea without you saying so.

Anika
Draws maps of places that don’t exist. Keeps a notebook of things she means to say and never does.

Mu-Chan
Technically a member of the family. Has opinions about sleeping arrangements and no plans to change them.

“Some nights it’s enough
to be small, and warm,
and looking up together.”

Little stories,
told slowly.
Anika and the borrowed star
Mu-Chan does not want a bath

Letters from the family.
A short note in your inbox, once a month. New stories, small drawings, and the occasional recipe Okaa is happy to share.

Who draws all this?
Hoshikuzu (星屑 — “stardust”) is a family of four mascots — Otou, Okaa, Anika and Mu-Chan — and a small studio that makes their stories. Drawn slowly, by hand, mostly at night.

Thank you for stopping by. We’ve put the kettle on. Come back when the moon is full, or whenever you like, really.
